HANDS was established in 2003 by David Aouad [University of Montreal, 1997] and Juliana Haddad [Academie Libanaise des Beaux Arts, 2000]. The office is based in Beirut but its projects are spread over the Middle East. Two joint ventures, one with a firm based in Dubai, and the other with a firm based in Nigeria, have enabled the firm to expand its design work in the region. Besides their practice, Aouad teaches design at the Lebanese American University and Haddad teaches at the Academie Libanaise des Beaux Arts. Among their projects in Lebanon: Thai (7a) Bhamdoun Residence (7b-c), and Mint Lounge Bar (7d-e)
