COMERCIAL BANK HALL-SANTANDER FINANCIAL GROUP: The design tries to give presence to a corner retail space in the existing Hewlett Packard Caracas office building. The intention was to reinforce the corporate identity of the Bank independent from the image of the tower by introducing a triple height glazed atrium space in the corner of the building. The interior of the new banking hall integrates visually with the public street life of the highly trafficked Francisco de Miranda avenue. To achieve this visual integration, highly reflective and transparent materials such as sand blasted glass and clear glass, black granite, perforated metal, and lighting were used in a very innovative way. The design of the programmatic elements is a direct response to two basic banking requirements: public circulation and security. To separate the public from the private, a circular membrane of slats of wood and metal was introduced giving coherence to the space.
